Berlin Engineering, Handmade Precision

Mykita was founded in Berlin in 2003 and has been doing things its own way ever since. The brand builds every frame at its headquarters in the city's former Myki daycare centre, which gave the company its name. Patented screwless hinges, ultra-thin stainless steel sheets, and a proprietary 3D-printed material called Mylon set Mykita apart from conventional eyewear. The aesthetic is spare and architectural, with nothing wasted. Their recent collaboration with RIMOWA brought together two German houses known for precision, and the result feels exactly as deliberate as you'd expect.
